Open Settings, then Privacy and Permission manager. Menu wording varies by manufacturer, so use Settings search if needed.
1. Start with sensitive access
Review location, camera and microphone. Remove access from apps you no longer use. Prefer “only while using” when background access is not essential.
2. Check special access
Search Settings for “special app access.” Review notification access, device administration, installing unknown apps and accessibility services.
3. Repeat quarterly
Set a calendar reminder. Permissions change as apps update, and a regular review is more reliable than a one-time cleanup.
