An eSIM can make travel connectivity simpler, but only if your phone, carrier and destination plan agree. Start by confirming that the handset is unlocked and that its exact regional model supports eSIM.
Keep a fallback
Install the profile on Wi-Fi before departure, but do not activate its data plan early unless the provider says the validity clock starts on first network connection. Save the QR code offline and keep your primary SIM enabled for account recovery messages.
Check the real allowance
Compare hotspot rules, fair-use limits and supported networks—not just the headline data amount. On arrival, verify the selected data line and disable data roaming on the line you do not intend to use.
